Miss Bourget's Class

Each week, our kindergarten class works on number recognition, one to one correspondence as well as simple addition sentences.  The children work on reading the number (2), counting the number of dots representing the number(..) and building the number using the manipulatives.  We have made a number of different games that correspond with our themes as well as some we have made with items that are of interest to certain children in our class.  Many of the ideas come from the Math Their Way book. As well we have created our own ideas.  Some of the children can solve simple adding and subtraction problem using the mats.   

Our manipulatives are homemade, or easily purchased from the local stores.
