.Throughout the school year a number of
opportunities arise where the children can experience different ways of
collecting data. Below are some of the ways our class learned about each other.
Notice that how the children identified their favorite or their contributions to
the graphs.
In the first graph children drew pictures of their
eye color and glued the picture onto a large sheet. In the second (How Do You
Like Your Eggs) and third picture (Favorite Color Graph the children used their glue stick
to glue cut out squares of construction paper to put on the graph. In
the Color graph the color of the squares of paper represented their favorite
color. In the fourth graph representing the children's favorite fruit, the
children were provided with a sticky dot to stick on the graph. For the Potato
graph they put their initials in the space.

The favorite toppings graph was to
show which toppings children like to put on their pancakes so I as the teacher
would know what to provide on pancake day. We used happy face stickers on this
graph.
