Sharon's Vignette: Number Writing |

I
When I encourage children to print numerals on paper or white
boards, I acknowledge that some numbers are harder to form than
others. I try to encourage children to realize this for
themselves. I suggest that they write all the numbers that
are easiest for themselves first. We share these with
someone sitting near by and then we will do some small group work
on writing one more numeral, in hopes of helping a few of the
children add one more digit to the numbers that they think are
easy to write. "Look, Mrs.H., now I can make the
4!" said Noor.
